Ideation 8,217
Unless they are a vegetarian / vegan . . . . they don't have a leg to stand on. It's eco-friendly in the extreme if done properly, much closer to nature, less wasteful (by far), much more animal friendly when taken as a whole industry. And a whole load more. But like i said, if they are an 'anti' etc, but not a vegetarian / vegan, then they are an ignorant, hypocritical b*****d, and i usually make them feel bad about themselves. . . . secretagentmole 1,701
If they are a veggie we are saving their food from being scoffed by all manner of pests, some of which do major damage to the transport infrastructure (I am sure London Underground still has teams of ferreters on call to remove rabbits from embankments)! If they knew how much damage was done by the things they are trying to protect some of them might think that perhaps it is better to kill humanely and swiftly than by traps and poison! I agree with what you've said, Jai, but vegetarians don't wash with me. They may not eat meat but they'll happily wear leather, drink milk, eat eggs etc and most of the veggies when pressed will admit to eating fish, seafood and chicken. What most of them are really saying is that they don't eat anything with a face they can in some way relate to. Fair play to vegans though, as fecked up as they are at least they're standing by their morrals.

keepitcovert 842
I always ask them if they like the country side in the uk, and then proceed to point out that fieldsports have shaped the enviroment eg the large estates, woodlands, wetlands ect. I dont hate antis i just see them generally as misguided fools. The people i dislike are the psuedo country folk with the pet gundog or lurcher who dont know their arse from their elbow. Malt 379
to anyone who has been approached by antis, or simply informing the general public, what sensible arguements do you put forward in protecting our sport. I was approached by a family of walkers when I was ferreting some trenches a few years back. They asked a fair few questions once they'd politely asked if I minded them watching. I showed them the ferrets and they all sat on a bank in their bobble hats watching with interest. With anti's, there's no point trying to sensibly argue your side because they've already closed their minds with the thought that you are an evil b*****d, so they just get told to feck off..
